IPOH, PERAK, MALAYSIA Nov 2, 2025 – The Minister of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), Nga Kor Ming, today issued a public apology regarding the incident that occurred during the pre-launch press conference for the “I Lite U” Lighting Launch Program recently, while reaffirming his commitment to press freedom.

In a statement released on social media, he acknowledged the reprimand directed at him and recognized the possibility of a misstep in the matter. “I accept it with an open heart,” he said, adding that as a leader, he always respects press freedom and has never intended to offend any party, especially journalists who are described as the “pillar of information for the Madani Government.”
Nga Kor Ming emphasized that his primary objective is to build an inclusive, progressive, and multi-ethnic Malaysia, while elevating the nation’s dignity on the international stage. He also expressed deep appreciation for the presence and support of media colleagues who consistently play a crucial role in conveying KPKT initiatives to the public.
As a next step, the minister humbly offered to meet with the involved media parties in the near future to resolve the issue amicably and orderly. “I greatly value the presence and support of my media colleagues,” he added.
This statement comes after initial reports of tension during the press conference, which involved evidence from the Kuala Lumpur star, sparking discussions among journalists and the public. The Madani Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, has always emphasized harmonious relations with the media as the primary channel for public communication.
